This is an intermediate level engineering course where trainees cover areas related to construction of buildings and interpretation building drawings. The minimum requirement to enroll for the course is a KCSE mean grade of C and above, or Level 5 certification in the same field. Units covered during the study include Mathematics, Surveying, Estimation and Costing, Entrepreneurship, Structures, Construction Materials, Measurement of Building Works, Construction Plans, Building Services, Technical Drawing, Concrete Technology as well as Computer Assisted Drawing and Design (CADD). Here trainees would also be taught digital literacy to increase their efficiency in operating in this era of continuous technological improvements.
